The GL Optics-Rehoused Laowa 10mm T/3.1 Lens is an industry leader in ultrawide optics. An extremely rugged but lightweight housing with fully rectilinear optical design means that whether you’re shooting architecture, people, or anything in-between no excessive geometric distortion will affect you.
The lens covers VV/LF sensors handily, and has an absolutely wild close focus of 4″. It’s featured in a hard LPL mount, so it can easily be thrown on to something like an Alexa 35 or Mini LF with ease, or can just as easily be adapted to shallow flange mounts. on FF sensors, you’ll get an insane 130 degree FoV, and the lens has a 95mm front. It resolves very well in the center and is very high contrast, with a gentle rolloff on the sides of frame at closer focal distances.
There are very few options out there for lightweight, FF covering ultra wide lenses, so it’s just as well this one is so capable.
